EMBRACING THE JOY OF LIFE

This morning, after listening to Aaron Abke’s video on Spiritual Balancing, I realized that I needed to balance my spirit from the fear of death, by embracing the joy of life. This breakthrough came at a pivotal moment, just after my daughter shared her struggles with thoughts of self-harm. Reacting with immediate love and concern, I apologized for not recognizing her struggles earlier. She shared that although she occasionally feels overwhelmed by negative thoughts, she understands they are temporary. We couldn't pinpoint any specific triggers for her feelings.

She reassured me that she's faced harder times in the past and views her current state as a minor issue. She finds that staying busy helps keep her mind off negative thoughts and insists on continuing her school routine.

She is reluctant to seek psychiatric help partly due to witnessing my challenges with antidepressants. She's keen on finding her own path to healing, which I fully support. Meanwhile, I'm vigilant, ready to seek professional help if necessary, and encouraging her to engage in activities like performance arts to help her find balance and happiness.

She's opened up about feeling low at times, particularly before going to school, but also noted how engaging in these activities eventually makes her feel better. She seems cautious about labeling herself with mental illness, so I'm exploring alternative therapies that might provide relief without adding to her spiritual discomfort.

This journey has made me realize the importance of facing my own fears and working on myself to better support my daughter.

To best serve my daughter, I should start enjoying life myself.

I'm committed to finding support that respects her perspective and helps us navigate these challenges together, focusing on enjoying life rather than being constrained by fear.
